Contains abduction theme, strong violence and strong language

Thanksgiving. After leaving a shared celebratory meal between their families, young best friends Anna and Joy are the victims of a horrifying abduction.

The strong-willed Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal) is put in charge of the case to bring the girls home, as the local community of Pennyslvania reels from the shocking turn of events.

But Anna’s father, Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman), soon clashes with the Detective in desperation to find his beloved child; when the prime suspect is given released from police custody, Keller is driven to take matters into his own hands…

Built upon staggering performances from its ensemble cast – including Jackman, Gyllenhaal, Viola Davis, Paul Dano and Terrence Howard – this supremely powerful entry in Denis Villeneuve’s impressive filmography is an emotionally shattering, dread-inducing investigative drama which mines deep from the unbreakable bonds of family – and how far one man will go for the sake of his precious daughter.
