Convicted felon Rudy Duncan (Ben Affleck) is on the verge of release from prison. Desperate to make a fresh start, he senses an opportunity when his cellmate Nick dies in a riot, and assumes Nick’s identity so that he can meet his pen pal sweetheart, Ashley (Charlize Theron). Little does he know that Ashley has been ensnaring Nick in a honeytrap in order to break into the casino where Nick used to work. Embroiled in a criminal gang led by Gabriel (Gary Sinise) and not daring to reveal his true identity, Rudy is going to have to bluff his way through a successful heist in the winter snow, with a group of villains dressed as Santa Claus.
