For Schools

Over the last three years, our award-winning learning team have welcomed over 15,000 children and young people to Tyneside Cinema to learn about the world through film.

Our team can deliver a range of workshops for 8 – 24-year-olds that can complement work done in the classroom. From modern foreign language workshops and study days to curriculum-led filmmaking workshops, our sessions can help shed light on a subject, as well as building skills and confidence.

Our engaging one-day film and animation courses are a creative and unique way to get your pupils inspired about the curriculum. Working with schools, colleges, community groups and other learning providers, these workshops are available for SEN and all the Key Stages from KS2.

A flexible format, we can make these courses suit any subject including history, science, literature, modern foreign language, media, art and design.

Alongside the curriculum, your pupils will also develop key skills such as confidence, teamwork, communication, problem-solving and decision making.

Over a fun and action-packed day at our Pop-Up Film School, students will plan and shoot a series of short films. Our professional filmmakers and facilitators will support your students throughout the day and participants can keep anything you produce during the day. You can use it to support future lessons, contribute to coursework requirements or simply as a souvenir.
