New York, early 1960s. Against the backdrop of a vibrant music scene and tumultuous cultural upheaval, an enigmatic 19-year-old from Minnesota arrives in the West Village with his guitar and revolutionary talent, destined to change the course of American music. As he forms his most intimate relationships during his rise to fame, he grows restless with the folk movement and, refusing to be defined, makes a controversial choice that culturally reverberates worldwide.

Driven by stunning musical performances of Bob Dylan’s formidable 60s catalogue, in which Chalamet uncannily channels Dylan’s distinctive vocals, this cinematic Ballad of a Thin Man features harmonic supporting turns from Elle Fanning, Monica Barbaro and Edward Norton.

A Complete Unknown marks yet another musical biopic triumph for the great James Mangold, who previously garnered widespread awards acclaim for bringing the story of Johnny Cash to the big screen with the help of Joaquin Pheonix and Reese Witherspoon in 2005’s Walk the Line.
