Who we are

Tyneside Cinema is an Independent Creative Cinema in the heart of Newcastle.  It occupies a beautiful Art Deco Grade II listed building where it has stood for 80 years.  Built by Dixon Scott, great uncle of Sir Ridley and Tony Scott it opened in 1937 as a Newsreel Theatre.  Since then it has grown and now has 4 auditoria as well as 3 on site bar cafes (Tyneside Bar Café, Vicolo and Tyneside Coffee Rooms). It welcomes 500,000 visitors to the building every year making it one of the largest and most successful independent cultural cinemas in the UK.

Technician

Flexible annualised hours contract (1,300 hours per annum)

Salary: £12,155 per annum

30 days holiday per annum pro rata including bank holidays

Tyneside Cinema is looking for a multi-skilled technician to deliver audio, visual and live experiences to outstanding technical standards; provide proactive IT and technical support to staff, artists, customers and private clients and ensure the building and its facilities are operational at all times so that the Cinema runs smoothly and can deliver outstanding film presentation and customer service in a safe and sustainable way.
