Presented as part of the official MOBO Fringe Programme, Saturday 15 February will see Tyneside Cinema host the vibrant evening premiere of a new music video made by young people across the region, inspired by the Mercury Prize-winning ensemble Ezra Collective, followed by a documentary, local performances and Q&A, all showcasing global majority and underrepresented young talent from Newcastle & Gateshead.
Two schools – Walker Riverside Academy (Walker, Newcastle) and Heworth Grange (Gateshead) – and four youth groups – The Soundroom (Gateshead), Gateway Studios (Gateshead), Newcastle Young Carers (Byker, Newcastle), and Company of Others (Walker, Newcastle) were involved in the project. Working with these schools and youth groups across Newcastle and Gateshead, local organisations GLOW Newcastle and Northern Roots have helped talented young people from global majority and underrepresented backgrounds create a music video using a song by famed jazz ensemble, Ezra Collective.
Presented alongside a behind-the-scenes documentary of the project in the making plus a live performance and a Q&A, we invite you to celebrate young talent in the North East at Tyneside Cinema this February.
All tickets are £2.
