With Han Solo frozen in Carbonite and Princess Leia a prisoner of the monstrous Jabba the Hutt, Jedi apprentice Luke Skywalker is tasked with a dangerous mission of infiltration and rescue. Meanwhile, the Empire continues to grow in power, constructing a second Death Star which holds the fate of the universe in balance. Luke, Han, Leia and Chewie journey to the forest moon of Endor to disengage the planet-destroying weapon’s shields and thwart the Empire’s plan – with the help of the loveable Ewoks – leading to a final dramatic standoff between Luke and his father, Darth Vader.
An epic crescendo for the original trilogy, Return of the Jedi sees Luke’s interplanetary hero journey reach its thrillingly satisfying conclusion, as he embarks on a lightsaber-wielding quest to redeem his father and bring him to the light side of the Force.
Don’t miss this unmissable chance to experience perhaps the greatest sci-fi saga of all at Tyneside Cinema this summer.
