Hungarian auteur György Pálfi returns with Hen, shifting focus to the most unlikely of protagonists. The story follows a resilient Leghorn chicken who escapes the confines of an industrial farm only to become an unwitting observer of a spiralling human drama involving desperation, migration, and local greed.

The animal actors are supported by a talented human cast, including Ioannis Kokiasmenos (Bäckström) and Maria Diakopanagioti (Arcadia), whose lives play out in the periphery of the hen’s own struggle.

Known for his surreal and boundary-pushing works, Pálfi crafts an allegorical fable that balances dark humour with poignant social commentary.
