In October, Tyneside Cinema welcomes the BFI London Film Festival to Newcastle for a special series of Gala Premieres.
Featuring the very best films from all over the world, the LFF is the only place to see some of Award Season’s buzziest films months ahead of release, and the Tyneside is the only cinema in the North East where you can catch this exclusive line up.
To celebrate, we’ve teamed up with Tynemouth-based Riley’s Fish Shack for an exclusive Gala Launch event, limited to just 60 guests!
You’ll have the exciting opportunity to join us for a champagne reception from Lanchester Wines, followed by Oysters and Canapés courtesy of Riley’s in the Coffee Rooms, followed by an exclusive screening of Steve McQueen’s new film Blitz, simultaneous with its World Premiere at the BFI London Film Festival on 9 October in the Classic Circle, as we see in this year’s LFF in style.
Already picking up a Oscars buzz, Blitz is an emotionally epic journey through WWII London, following the quest of a young boy (newcomer Elliott Heffernan) as he defies evacuation to the British countryside, determined to reunite with his mother (Saoirse Ronan) and grandfather (Paul Weller) in the danger zone of wartime London.
