All the world's a cinematic stage... Inspired by the release of Chloe Zhao's emotionally flooring adaptation of Hamnet, releasing at the Tyneside on the 9th Jan, the Tyneside sets the stage for an unmissable selection of Shakespearian cinematic adaptations from across the globe, paying tribute to the enduring legacy of the Bard on the history of storytelling.

From the epic staging of Kurosawa’s transposing of Macbeth, Throne of Blood, to the irresistibly tongue-in-cheek 90s reimagining of The Taming of the Shrew10 Things I Hate About You – to the Romeo and Juliet inspired classic 1961 musical West Side Story, celebrate a veritable tempest of Shakespeare tragedies and comedies reinterpreted for the majesty of the silver screen.

This special thematic season runs until March, with further programme additions to be announced!
