100 People: A Portrait of Co-Existence is a film shot in 2023 that combines several conversations between residents and workers, diverse in age, ethnicity, and economic background to present a collective spirit of everyday solidarity emerging in the residential neighbourhood of Shieldfield, on the outskirts of Newcastle’s city centre.
With the aim to galvanise a broader awareness of the co-ordinated action between ordinary people in Shieldfield, 100 people demonstrates the value of this work, to reveal a collective model of what could be and how we might get there.
This screening will be followed by an open forum led by artist Andrew Wilson and Shieldfield Art Works Director Lydia Hiorns.
