An electrifying reimagining of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, set in the world of a British South Asian family in contemporary London. Hamlet (Riz Ahmed) returns to London for the funeral of his father, but he is shocked when his uncle, Claudius (Art Malik), announces that he’s marrying Hamlet’s just-widowed mother.

After seeing his father’s ghost, who says he was murdered by Claudius, Hamlet becomes consumed by rage and revenge. He goes to violent lengths to avenge his father’s murder, questioning not only his role in the family business, but his own sanity.

Reuniting the extraordinary creative team behind the Oscar winning short The Long Goodbye – director Aneil Karia and star Riz Ahmed – this modern transposing of the Bard is a revitalising breath of fresh air for the cinematic Shakespeare adaptation, gathering a brilliant ensemble cast, including Morfydd Clark (Saint Maud), Joe Alwyn (Hamnet) and Timothy Spall (Mr. Turner).
