Dementia Friendly Cinema is our popular screening programme for people with dementia, their families and carers. Screenings are open to everyone, and we screen the films with the lights slightly raised and the sound down a touch, in our beautiful Classic auditorium.

Singin’ in the Rain is the 1952 all-American classic. A whimsical musical perfectly mixing comedy, romance, and Gene Kelly’s incredible dance moves. Set in the roaring 20s, just as Hollywood makes its move to the ‘talkies’, we follow famous silent movie actor Don Lockwood (Kelly) and his less talented co-star Lina Lamont (Jean Hagan) as they turn their hat to musicals. There is one problem — Lina can’t sing. Enter best friend Cosmo Brown (Donald O’Connor) and Kathy Selden (Debbie Reynolds) who formulate a plan to save the film from the brink of disaster.

It will make you laugh, it will make you sing, we just ask that you leave your brollies at home!
