3,332 miles. 128 days. One unspoken grief.

The Marathon Man is a raw, life-affirming story about the cost of silence, and the courage it takes to break it. Because sometimes, to change the people you love, you have to change yourself first.

Leodhais Macpherson is attempting the almost impossible: running the distance from Newcastle to New York — a marathon a day, every day, for 128 days. No cameras. No crowds. No support team. Just him, the road, and a promise.

He’s running for his brother Conor, who took his own life in 2018. In the years since, Conor’s death has become the “elephant in the room.” His parents, buried in grief, can’t bring themselves to talk about it. So to protect them, neither has Leodhais. Until now.

Racked with pain and his body breaking down, Leodhais realises the running isn’t even his biggest challenge. The real fight is the one he’s been outrunning for years: grief he never let himself feel. To cross the finish line, he doesn’t just need to survive thousands of miles — he needs to face the questions Conor left behind, and find a way to bring his family back together.
