The cinema’s Art Deco Coffee Rooms will be used as a dance music venue, plus a second room featuring DJs providing alternative sets featuring their favourite music from cinema. Music on the night comes from the composers plus Athens of the North’s very own Euan Fryer and special guest Phoreski.
NXS800 is an experimental work which combines electronic music, orchestral performance and which is rooted in the working class experience. Movies and Popular Culture are often the entry point into orchestral and avant garde music for many people from a working class backgrounds and this is an event which will try to bridge the gap between Club Culture, Classical & Experimental Music, and Film.
Spaces are very limited on this occasion – tickets available here – however please also keep your eyes open for an even bigger dance event taking over the whole venue in 2027 to celebrate 90 years of The Tyneside Cinema.
