Welcome Back!

Our teams have worked incredibly hard over the last two years to ensure that Tyneside Cinema is a safe and welcoming space for everyone who enjoys film, and we have loved seeing many of our guests return once again.

As we continue to face the challenge of COVID cases, the opening hours for Vicolo by Tyneside Cinema and Bar Care are subject to change.

We will be continually reviewing the situation and will keep you updated on any further changes.

Having staggered our opening in response to necessary social-distancing measures, our programme has gradually returned to include all fours screens (Classic, Roxy, Gallery, Electra). We thank you all for the patience and goodwill you have supported us with during this difficult and transitional period.

We want you to feel as comfortable as possible when you visit us, so we have all been working to ensure safety measures have been met and developed in relation to the ongoing pandemic response. Enhanced cleaning of all public spaces continues and hand santisers will remain in the building for the foreseeable future.

From Monday 25th October, we removed socially distanced seating in most of our screenings and in all four screens. This enables guests to self-select their seating preferences when booking online via our website.

Should you wish to still visit the cinema and prefer to sit at a social distance to other guests, we would recommend selecting a screening during our quieter periods during weekdays.

We will endeavour to assist with any requests for socially distanced seating subject to availability made via our box office phone line on 0191 227 5500.

All tickets can be purchased over the phone on 0191 227 5500 between the hours of 12am to 5pm, or via this website. Our Box Office, situated on the ground floor foyer of our building, is also open from 12 noon until 9pm daily.

As you are probably aware, public safety guidelines are subject to change, so please be sure to check this page regularly to ensure you are up to date with our current safety procedures and any changes.

What we’ll be doing to keep you safe:

• Clear signage, and additional staff assistance, to help you stay safely distanced and navigate our building
• Additional cleaning and PPE
• Hand sanitiser stations throughout the building

We remain fully accessible – you can find all our access information online here.

  • Pay using contactless payment if possible during your visit
  • Keep a safe distance from both staff and fellow customers
  • Wear a mask or face covering if possible, except when eating or drinking
  • Wash or sanitise your hands regularly
  • Stay at home if you have any symptoms of coronavirus
  • Book your ticket online or over the phone before your visit

If you or anyone you live with displays symptoms of coronavirus, please do not visit Tyneside Cinema.  You can find more information about the symptoms of coronavirus on the NHS website.

If you, or a member of your household, is experiencing Coronavirus symptoms you must inform our Box Office team no later than 24 hours in advance of your screening: We will rearrange your booking or put a credit note on your account for use against a future booking.
