This stylish thriller follows Stéphane (Laure Calamy, Call My Agent), a woman in her forties who lives in financial precarity. When her living arrangement takes an even worse turn, she decides to reach out to her estranged, but incredibly wealthy father. As Stephane attempts to fit in with her father’s extravagant new family, she soon becomes entangled in the suspicion and deceit that lurks within the beautifully appointed mansion by the sea.

An intoxicating game of cinematic deception which builds in psychological intensity, drawing comparisons to the works of literary greats Patricia Highsmith and Claude Chabrol, The Origin of Evil is a deliciously decadent, wonderfully witty French comedic thriller.
