Ray (Colin Farrell) and Ken (Brendan Gleeson), two hitmen, get stuck in Bruges, Belgium, after an unsuccessful mission. While Ken is content exploring the cultural riches of his surroundings, the hapless, haunted Ray has no desire to embrace the tourist spirit.
The situation becomes further complicated when their volatile, imaginatively foul-mouthed boss asks Ken to kill Ray. Celebrate the festive season with an unabashedly unsentimental, hysterically crude getaway in the company of two rioutously unfiltered Irish assassins, in what may well be Martin McDonagh’s (The Banshees of Inisherin) finest – and certainly most endlessly quotable – cinematic hour to date.
