Tyneside Talent Unit

The Tyneside Unit is a free, hands-on creative hub based inside Tyneside Cinema built for young people aged 17-25 who want a practical way into the Film and TV industry.

This isn’t a classroom. It’s not a lecture. It’s a creative working environment.

  • You’ll make short films.
  • You’ll learn directly from industry professionals.
  • You’ll work in real spaces, with real kit, on real briefs.
  • You'll work across the camera, sound and art departments as well as editing, producing and directing.

    • Alongside creative skills, we also focus on the things that get people hired:

    Reliability. Confidence. Professional behaviour. Problem-solving. Teamwork.

    You’ll meet like-minded people, build your portfolio, grow your network and gain honest insight into life on set.
